Totnes
Orange Rolling It wouldn't be summer without a
strange tradition or two - in this
case, the odd spectacle of watching people race
and chase oranges down a
steep high street in
Totnes, South Devon. The tradition
reputedly dates back to the day Sir Francis Drake bumped
into a delivery boy, causing him to spill his
fast-moving fruit down the hill. Roll along on 21st –
22nd August For

we been busy!
We’ve
added an amazing 21 new holiday homes over the past few weeks.
Here are a few to whet your appetite:
On the edge of Dartmoor, a stunning house and
converted barns (A59)
with outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna; and the sizeable
wing of a fine Victorian house (A251)
set in 24 acres of splendid gardens near
Ivybridge. Try this truly delightful little
cottage (L77)
close to lovely South Hams beaches or this
ultra-modern, detached house (L650)
in Newton Ferrers with sensational panoramic
views of the River Yealm. We have two stylish
new barn conversions in Maiden Newton, Dorset (H200)
and Upton, on the edge of Exmoor (F184).
Heading west to Cornwall, in Little Petherick, a
modern mid-terrace cottage (P306)
in a peaceful location alongside the tidal
creek; a pretty end-of-row cottage
(R64)
on the very edge of Millbrook Lake; and on
Point Green in Feock overlooking Restronguet
Creek, a delightful semi-detached
cottage (S243).
Please note that a few of these new properties are
unavailable this year and are therefore showing their
2009 availability. |

What a difference a year makes! Last summer too much
liquidity of the watery kind and this summer too
little liquidity of the monetary type! Whatever the
obstacles we hope you’ll enjoy your holidays
wherever you go, but especially if you come here to the West Country
where we trust the welcome will soon rejuvenate
you.
Best wishes,
Moray Bowater
