Summer holidays beckon…

Not long until the holidays now. You may have arranged yours already, but if not, we’d love to welcome you to the West Country. Drink in the terrific views, sample the local food, visit our unique and quirky events or just put your feet up and relax in this wonderful corner of England.

If you’ve not booked yet, don’t despair! We’ve still got some delightful properties available and to help we’re now also offering three or four night breaks in July and August - call our telephone team (01647 433593), they’ll help you find the perfect spot to unwind.

Tempting offers...

We’ve some tempting offers on some of our bigger houses too. Great places for getting together with friends or family to share the comfort and ambience of somewhere just a little bit special. Maristow Barton (L80), on a 6,000 acre estate, sleeps 16 in Georgian splendour for £133 per person for week commencing Friday 17th July; and deep in its own mid-Devon valley is Middle Coombe (J9), a 16th century thatched farmhouse sleeping 16 with heated pool available for only £142 per person for week commencing Friday 17th July.

If you’re looking for something a bit smaller, try Longbrook Farm (L206) a Grade II listed, 16th century, stone farmhouse in the South Hams sleeping 8 at £111 per person week commencing Saturday 18th July; or take a look at Puthill Cottage (E15), an attractive, stone-built cottage within the 1,000 acre Cricket St Thomas Estate, sleeping 6 at £130 per person week commencing Friday 10th July. Just 400 yards from the harbour at Lynmouth with lovely river valley views, is a split-level Victorian house (F17) sleeping 7 from £103 per person week commencing Saturday 18th July.

Fal River Festival jollity…

Last month we had fun as one of the principal sponsors at the Fal River Festival. Helen, Margie and Tan attended the opening ceremony on board ‘The Duchess of Cornwall’ at Truro Quay, and assisted taking the ‘festival beer’ from the local brewery down to Falmouth. They were joined at Malpass by a small fleet of boats that escorted the beer down the river. It all ended with a spectacular display of tugs with fire monitors and on to the launch party and dancing at Events Square Falmouth... a fabulous afternoon.

New properties…

As always, we’re pleased to bring you more new holiday homes ready to book. If you’ve ever been to the splendid barn conversion (A614) at Chagford, you’ll enjoy similar five star quality at this unusual romantic retreat (A615). A neat and efficient new terraced house (F38) in Combe Martin, and a thatched, 17th century red-stone cottage (F39) in Waterrow are both on Exmoor; while beside the River Inny on the edge of Bodmin, is a little detached house (P50). You may remember A627, now back with us, a peaceful, detached cottage surrounded by farmland at the top of Nattadon Hill here in Chagford; while L96 is a dear little 18th century cottage just 400 yards from the pub at Kingston. F40, a semi-detached cottage, looks out across the Bristol Channel at Porlock Weir; and H16 is a stone-built bungalow on the edge of a 400 acre farm not far from Chard.

Both the championship courses (including the famous Jack Nicklaus one) have undergone big makeovers and re-opened in June. Now known as St Mellion International Resort, the course is within easy reach of Plymouth airport. We have a lodge at the resort and holiday homes in the area - a great place to bear in mind for a golfing holiday.
