| Blazing June! At long last, summer’s
here – happy days. Make the most of it by
leaving the grind behind a while and coming
down to the wonderful West Country for
a week (or two) away in one of our fabulous holiday homes. |

'When I, hemmed in by wrecks of men,
Thought of some lonely cottage then
Full of sweet books; and miles of sea,
With passing ships, in front of me;
And having, on the other hand,
A flowery, green, bird-singing land.'
William Henry Davies (1871 - 1940)

The Festival by the
Sea
A celebration of local food and arts with a seaside slant
takes place over the weekend of 3rd and 4th June
at Looe in Cornwall. Local fishermen will
demonstrate how fish is caught, and lead tours of
local boats and trawlers. There will be cookery
demonstrations and, for landlubbers, daily al fresco
food tastings on the quayside provided by local
restaurants and hotels. As well as cookery demos there are
art exhibitions, a flower festival, choirs, bands, dance
shows, music and drama.
New to the festival this year is Grazing on the
Quay, a chance to sample tasters of local restaurants’
signature dishes for £2 or under.

Saturday is Mazey Day, when a huge parade
