| … March has blown in like a lion,
so let’s hope it goes out like a lamb.
If you come to the West Country now you’ll
find nature in full flow with the rivers madly roaring
down the valleys and the seas wild and mountainous
and the lagoons of daffodils bouncing
in the spring time gusts. There’s great comfort in
returning to a cosy cottage warmed
by a slow-burning stove after some wet
weather rambling (suitably dressed, of course!).
You’ll find a cosy seaside one at
Gorran Haven and one in deepest Exmoor
at Brendon. Our sales team regularly
visit and inspect all our holiday homes, so if
you want to contact us for an inside, unbiased opinion,
just phone or email us. We’re open 9 till
9 most days and all day on Saturdays. |
… so why not book a long weekend cottage
in Cornwall and spend some time in one of the county’s
famous gardens? Trevano, Trebah,
Heligan and Caerhays are always open and they are
fabulous places to wander round at this time of
year as the early spring growth and colours
begin to appear. You could also work in a visit to the Maritime
Museum in Falmouth for a carvery lunch
and free entry to the galleries and exhibitions
(book in advance).

Searching for Easter eggs may not be
new for your children, but have they ever hunted
for them at a castle? Cut to the chase
at Lulworth, Corfe, Dunster, Restormel and Powderham
and take part in their fun Easter Egg Trails. From the middle
of March we’ll be offering short breaks
for the Easter Holidays. There's always
a great selection of traditional cottages
available, but we can also offer you some really
modern houses and apartments. Whatever your preference,
we’re sure to have a holiday home that’s
just right for you and we’re only too happy
to help you find one.

Northernhay Gardens were visited by
more than 15,000 people in 2006 and this year the Festival
will be even bigger. Come and meet a roll-call
of famous chefs including Michael Caine, Hugh
Fearnley-Whittingstall and Susy Atkins. There’s
a Restaurant Trail too from 21st March
to 4th April featuring foodie stops in Exeter and beyond.

... and while in Exeter …
… Foodeaze Food Hall in St George’s
Hall offers a whole new way to buy fresh and seasonal
food with opening times to match supermarket
hours. Have an apertif before going out
for the evening! Go there to buy a great selection of
seasonal food and also sit and eat a delicious
meal prepared right in front of you. I’ve
been there, it’s great!
