| Ancient Dartmoor continues to keep pace
with new leisure activities. Geocaching
is a step on from the well-known 'letterboxes' to be
found on the moor. You need a GPS (Global Positioning
System) and a visit to www.geocaching.com to find the co-ordinates
of hidden caches (there is one near Belstone for example).
Then you take your GPS and go wandering on the moor
and at this time of year too, there are lots of lambs
to see and gorse flowers with a vaguely coconut fragrance. |

| Dull weather didn’t deter visitors
to the South Devon Hunt Point to Point at Black Forest
Lodge on Easter Monday. Visitors to the attractive Helpful
Holidays marquee were treated to a hog roast, champagne
and the opportunity to enter the ‘Bucking Bronco’
competition. First prize was a weekend break for two
at one of Helpful Holidays’ 500 upmarket holiday
homes in the West Country. Alexis Bowater of Westcountry
TV presented the prize for the winning ride to Oliver
Tregelles who managed to stay on for a bone shaking
2 mins and 15 seconds. A fun day was had by all. |
