Summer promises to be busy in the Cornish countryside as the
National Maritime Museum in Falmouth unleashes a host of events to keep holidaymakers amused.
Visitors planning to get a taste of Cornwall holiday cottages this summer can visit the museum and experience some of the action lined up.
From July 28th to August 2nd, a scrapheap challenge and boat race designed to fire holidaymaker's creativity and inventiveness is lined up at the museum.
The challenge involves participants using just five items, which can be collected from the museum's recycled 'scrap-heap' to build a boat that is strong and buoyant enough to race across the museum's boat pool.
Another series of events offer individuals a chance to be crab catchers as contests to test crabbing skills take place on the pontoon.
Relevant equipment including a bait, line, bucket and expert help will be available in the July 26th to September 7th fetes.
