Devon holiday cottage guests to experience Dartmoor Folk Festival

Folk music lovers wishing to experience 'a friendly traditional festival' in the South West this August should ensure their Devon holiday cottage visits fall between 7th and 9th August.

Running on these dates is the Dartmoor Folk Festival, which will take place at South Zeal, Okehampton, with a variety of performers and other entertaining activities on the programme.

Visitors to the event will be able to experience everything from ceilidh, song and music sessions to broomdance championships, pub sessions and other child-friendly entertainment.

Craft displays, dances and other demonstrations are also lined up for the event, which organisers say 'continues to attract some of the top national and local artists as guests'.

This has enabled it to maintain its reputation as 'one of the top events in the folk calendar'.

Holidaymakers can take advantage of being in the region to visit Dartmoor National Park, which boasts 368 square miles that are ideal for cycling and walking as well as seeing wildlife.
