Families staying in holiday cottages in Devon over the next few days may be just in time to catch a unique outdoor event at a tranquil retreat in the South West.
Parke Estate, a National Trust property located in Bovey Tracey, on the South Eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park, will stage a Scarecrow Day on 17th February.
Running between 11:00am and 3:00pm at a cost of £2 per child, the showcase involves creating scarecrows, with prizes provided for those who come up with the best design.
The winner of each session will have their scarecrow deployed to work in the walled garden of the estate, which is set within the stunning countryside.
Some materials will be provided for the event, which also creates a great opportunity for visitors to enjoy the attraction's woodlands featuring wildlife and the River Bovey.
Parke Estate boasts an orchard with 150 historic Devon cider apple trees, as well as a medieval weir.
