Families taking Devon holiday cottage breaks in the South West this summer will get an opportunity to spend a day with Shakespeare in the gardens of a beautiful Exeter attraction.
Rougemont Gardens is set to host Exeter Northcott between 16th July and 8th August as they return in an annual outdoor Shakespeare spectacular that will see Romeo & Juliet staged.
Exploiting the attributes of the impressive outdoor setting, the renowned classic, which this year will be staged in an expanded arena, has been directed by Kate Saxon.
'We have been granted a wealth of evocative space to inspire us in Rougemont Gardens,' she said of the new stage.
'Rather than use a set that may as well be indoors in a traditional theatre space, we chose to transport the Montagues and Capulets to be reborn here, to live outdoors, re-imagined in the parkland,' she added.
Tickets, which start from £12.50, can be obtained from the Exeter Nortchott Box Office, Exeter Tickets and Dix's Field.
