The Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM) in Exeter is currently playing host to a fascinating exhibition showcasing a plant collection dating back 200 years.
The Devon-based museum is exhibiting
Veitch & Sons: Exeter's Plant Hunting Adventurers at Killerton House, Broadclyst, Exeter, which features a fascinating collection from John Veitch's intrepid plant exploration spoils.
The collection dates back to the 19th and early 20th centuries when the collector embarked on a mission to gather new species of plants from all over the world by sending out plant hunters.
In addition to the plant collection are various other souvenirs from various nations that the hunters brought back with them.
Holidaymakers have until September 7th to book themselves a Devon holiday cottage or holiday home from where they can visit the collection and gain an insight into the fascinating historical work.
The items were donated to RAMM in the 1880s and are now part of the museum's World Cultures exhibit.
