A family friendly day full of fun and entertaining activities awaits families taking Cornwall holiday cottage breaks in the South West in mid July thanks to the
Surf Relief Festival.
Two exciting water sports make the centrepiece of the free beach festival, which takes place at Watergate Bay on 18th July, although some activities of round three of the UK Pro Surf Tour will be staged on the 17th.
Young junior lifeguards will get an opportunity to test their mettle against pros in team based relay races in an iron men and women competition during an event dubbed the Nippers Carnival.
While adults enjoy the variety of activities on the programme, children will be treated to dance workshops and face painting as well as enjoy a treat from Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium.
The attraction will stage a Rockpool Roadshow, which will showcase a selection of giant lobsters, starfish and an amazing walnut cracking crab.
Watergate Bay's music festival on the beach entitled Sunset Sessions, which will feature aspiring bands, will be 'the perfect end to a great day on the beach', say the organisers.
