Braunton and District Museum in Devon is home to a collection of artefacts that can offer a glimpse into the agricultural, military and maritime heritage of the area with scale models.
Devon holiday cottage guests visiting the attraction will be treated to a depiction of the Braunton Great Field, which was "one of only two remaining working examples of Saxon strip farming in England", according to the museum.
Local military history is also chronicled here with a display of artefacts and photographs covering the two world conflicts and the role Braunton played in D Day operations.
The museum is housed in the Bakehouse Centre, which came into existence with the conversion of a former bakehouse and two cottages, something that may not have gone down very well with the ghost said to be in residence.
As well as being home to the museum, Braunton is also a National Nature and Unesco Biosphere Reserve, thanks to the Braunton Great Field and Braunton Burrows.
The museum is open Monday to Saturday between 10:00am and 4:00pm.
