A Winter Pruning & Grafting Workshop taking place in the South West over the next few days offers a great opportunity for Somerset holiday cottage guests to pick up a few skills while holidaying.
Taking place at
Barrington Court, a National Trust property located near Ilminster, the event offers a chance for visitors to learn the techniques necessary to make the most of their fruit trees and bushes, according to the attraction.
Pete Belben, who has more than 30 years experience working at the now empty Tudor manor house, where he is Gardener-in-Charge of its highly productive kitchen garden, will host the event.
Booking is essential for the 18th February event, which costs £8 and kicks off at 9:00am. Visitors are advised to wear warm, outdoor clothing and wellingtons.
A second event entitled 'Blowing away the Cobwebs' will take place at the court on 28th February.
It is a walk with the property's head gardener around the estate where visitors can gain an insight into how it is managed.
