This weekend will see people sampling Somerset holiday cottages treated to a sporting event that provides a unique opportunity for participants to explore Exmoor.
Running on Saturday, 4th July is the
2009 Tour of Exmoor, a single day cycling sportive that organisers claim is designed to equal or even beat the challenges presented in legendary northern routes.
People that have never experienced riding in Exmoor 'can only imagine what is in store' and those that have 'will know any route in this area is not to be taken on lightly', they added.
Apart from a challenging riding experience, visitors will get a chance to enjoy the 'breathtaking and charmingly diverse' Exmoor, which boasts everything from 'glaciated upland moors to rugged sea cliffs'.
There are also a variety of attractions worth checking out while in the region including the mystical Glastonbury Tor, Cheddar Caves, Wookey Hole and Duster Castle.
Award winning Michelin star restaurants, local pubs and eateries also provide a great opportunity for dining and sampling local cuisine.
