Book a Devon holiday cottage for fireworks competition

One of the events that people taking Devon holiday cottage breaks in August should add to their itineraries is the British Fireworks Championship, which is a spectacle to behold.

Thousands of people congregate at Plymouth's waterfront for the annual summer event, which features 'the most spectacular firework displays' as competitors go head to head to see who produces the best show.

In the line up on the 11th and 12th August is the very best of British Firework Champions, meaning that visitors are guaranteed of seeing some truly amazing displays of 'glorious colour' against Plymouth's night sky.

Showcasing their displays on the 11th are Dragon Dynasty, Phoenix Fireworks and Skyburst the Fireworks Co, while Vulcan (Fireking), Celebration Fireworks and Highlight Pyrotechnics take the mantle on the following day.

According to the organisers, the showcase, which is backed by the city's council, is 'one the summer's must see events'.

Visitors to the region can obtain self catering accommodation from cottage specialist Helpful Holidays, which has more than 650 properties across Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset and Hampshire.
