Combeinteignhead: sheltered valley village (church, two pubs) of mostly little cottages among farmland and woods (footpaths and bridleways). Pretty Shaldon and Teignmouth, 2 miles. Torquay, 4 miles. Golf and racecourse at Newton Abbot, 3 miles.
The property:
Inside, a good combination of smartness and homeliness makes this a super place. Two steps up into hall; living room with gorgeous, heavy beams, big inglenook fireplace (woodburner) and TV. Snug with oak floor/rugs, pool table, TV/DVD, toys; step up to smart Shaker-style fitted kitchen (Aga, dishwasher) with big table/chairs, black granite and oak worktops, door to granite steps down to boot room, back door and outside loo; utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, fridge-freezer, electric oven and microwave; loo (washbasin). From main hall, stairs up to five bedrooms – a double (5’ bed) with handsome internal stained glass window, TV and en suite bathroom (suite plus shower); another double (5’ bed) with en suite bathroom (suite plus hand-shower), two twins, and a single. Large bathroom (suite with roll-top bath plus separate shower). Second living room (cinema system with pull-down screen/DVD/Blu-ray projector) with, leading off it, a small Shaker-style kitchenette (small fridge, ceramic hob). From this living room, steps down to a double bedroom with en suite bathroom (suite), and stairs up to another double bedroom with en suite bathroom (suite plus hand-shower), and twin with en suite loo (washbasin). Stairgates available. Professional catering available. Damages Deposit £250. Arrival after 4pm. A lovely home in a particularly pretty village. |
