The place:
Ilminster: small town at the heart of the ‘Hamstone country’. Nearest sea, about 15 miles (Dorset coast). Yeovilton air base nearby. Very easy to reach: M5, 8 miles; A303 straight there.

The property:

... about 3 miles from Ilminster, within a great country estate of much history, is the Gingerbread House – thatched, hexagonal, Grade II listed. On the edge of woods, about 300 yards down a farm track, 100 yards from farm buildings and about 300 yards from the busy A358 road (visible), it was built c1800 as the gardener's home. You are welcome to walk the 500 acres of farmland, park and woodland, by arrangement. Farm café within walking distance. 

The cottage has good-sized, secluded lawn (table/chairs, barbecue), leading to woods and fields. Leaded gothic windows, pine-shuttered. Studded front door; little hall; downstairs loo/washbasin (washing machine, tumble drier); two living rooms, one with open fireplace, one with TV/DVD; and kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave). Steep, curved stairs (rope rail) up to three bedrooms – a double, a twin, and another twin with 3 steps down to big bathroom (suite plus bath-shower).
