The place:
Lympstone: pretty and remarkably unspoilt village between low red-stone cliffs beside the Exe estuary (sailing boats, windsurfers). Harbour, estuary shingle beach, church, several pubs and shops, railway; stunning views. Exmouth (sandy beaches), 3 miles; Exeter, 8; two good golf courses within 4 miles. South West Coast Path from Lympstone to Exmouth (walk/cycle).
The property:
... on the waterfront in Lympstone at the end of a cobbled lane, a delightful, semi-detached cottage a few feet from the water’s edge. Lovely views across the bay to the harbour and over the estuary to Powderham Castle and Starcross. The cottage is 19th cent. with much character. Outside, a small paved and walled area (table/chairs and bench seat). Entrance from porch into cosy living room (comfortably seats 4); dining room; small but smart fitted kitchen (washer-drier, microwave, fridge-freezer, gas hob and electric oven). Downstairs loo (washbasin). From the dining room, stairs up to a double bedroom (6' lintel, brilliant views) and bathroom (suite plus bath-shower). More stairs (steepish) to a big attic-like room with three single beds. TV/DVD/video. Parking in public car park, approx. 400 yards. |
