The place:
Poltimore: red-stone hamlet (farm shop) in farmland about 1½ miles from Exeter. Broadclyst (attractive pub, PO/shop and one of Devon’s finest church towers), Stoke Canon (riverside village with pub and shop) and Killerton House and gardens (Nat. Trust), all within 2 miles. The sea/sandy beaches/sailing at Exmouth, 12 miles.

The property:


... in Poltimore hamlet, a cottage in the grounds of the owners' 60 acre organic farm which you are welcome to roam. This is 'the good life', totally peaceful; ½ acre lake (carp fishing); four mountain bikes; ponies, alpacas, a goat and a couple of cats and dogs. Two enclosed gardens, one with trampoline, slide, swing, climbing frame and picnic tables, and the other with barbecue, and games barn (half-sized pool table, darts), all shared with two other apartments. Old farm buildings close by, but beyond are stunning views.

Entrance via steps up to a little wooden balcony (table/chairs, stairgate, good for evening sun), then stable doors to living/dining/fitted kitchen (microwave, fridge-freezer), light and bright with leather sofas, stripped floors/rugs and ceiling to apex, TV/DVD; off this, a double bedroom. A beautiful pine spiral staircase (top stairgate) leads down to one double and one twin bedroom, bathroom (suite plus bath-shower), small utility room (washer-drier) off the double bedroom, and back door. A friendly and comfortable place to stay.
