The place:
Dittisham: idyllically situated, end-of-lane little village (PO/stores, two pubs, church) beside the beautiful lake-like river Dart. Jetty (crabbing), pedestrian ferry to Greenway (Nat. Trust, once Agatha Christie’s), boats for hire, dinghy moorings, sailing school. Dartmouth (town), 2 miles (ferry); Dartmouth Golf and Country Club, 3¼ miles. Coarse sand beach (river), 1 mile; beach (sea) at Blackpool Sands (The Venus Café, Restaurant, Takeaway and Watersports), 6.

The property:


… on the hillside overlooking Dittisham, three cottages within 200 yards of the pub, PO/stores and church, in the grounds of Dittisham Court. Two acres of shared gardens with lawns for playing, fruit trees and views over the river Dart.

Primrose Cottage (arrow 1) is end of terrace, south-facing, with its own small patio and garden at the bottom of a few steps, enclosed by a little picket fence (furniture); beyond are the shared gardens. Inside, the cottage is light, bright, well decorated and pleasing. Hall with lobby (loo/washbasin) leads to pretty living/dining room with pine fireplace (open fire), Welsh dresser, TV/DVD, French windows to patio; fitted kitchen (microwave, dishwasher, washer-drier, fridge-freezer) with hatch to living/dining room. Stairs up to two bedrooms – a double (en suite shower, washbasin) overlooking the garden, and a small twin - and bathroom (suite plus hand-shower). Very peaceful.
