The property:
... 20 yards from Bigbury-on-Sea's big and splendid sandy beach, and looking at Burgh Island over the low-tide sandy causeway, is this truly excellent and very greatly appreciated development of 29 high quality apartments of which we let 14, and, within the building, a very good private Leisure Club. The views over the sea to the south and west, and at low tide of a huge expanse of smooth washed yellow sand reaching to Burgh Island, are outstanding. The island's jolly pub, The Pilchard, is fun to visit (long-legged sea tractor at high tide).
All the apartments have those sensational views, are double-glazed, marvellously light, with large living/dining/fitted kitchens, glazed doors to balconies or terraces. They are privately owned and individually furnished. Smallish bedrooms at the back (no views) with good quality en suite, internal, tiled, bath or shower-rooms. Most have easy access (short walk from the car and between 5 and 9 steps down to the lift). Parking for one car at the back of each property and some extra space for guests. Arrival after 4pm.
The Leisure Club
, open from 10am every day (closed Christmas Day; open from 11am to 3pm on Boxing Day and from 12pm to 4pm on New Year’s Day; closed 7 January to 19 January), has a
fine indoor kidney-shaped swimming pool (40’ x 20’ x 4’6"), spa pool, extensive, well-equipped gym (treadmill, steps, cycles, Concept II Rower, and other instruments of torture) and sauna (no children under 14 in gym or sauna). The smart bar provides coffee/drinks through the day and light meals, cream teas and a children’s menu (variable opening hours), served either in the Club or for you to take to your apartment. Comfy lounging area (sofas, WiFi Broadband) and outside terrace facing the sea. There are changing rooms, a shower and disabled loo.
