The place:
Port Isaac: exceptionally pretty fishing village (shops, pubs, restaurants), setting for the ‘Doc Martin’ series, on a steep hillside round a natural harbour between cliffs (low tide beach, rock pools). Coastal walks. Port Gaverne (cove beach), ½ mile. Port Quin (beautiful ‘fjord’, spectacular walks), 2½. Polzeath (splendid sand/surf) and Rock (watersports, golf), 5.

The property:

... about 250 yards up from the harbour in Port Isaac, a delightfully restored and excellent, semi-detached, three-storey cottage. Slate-hung walls; long, enclosed, sloping garden (picnic table, bench), with lovely sea views reached via steep steps (small children take care) and, important in Port Isaac, forecourt parking for one car (more nearby by arrangement, extra). Ground floor: sunny living room with bay window (sea glimpse), pastel colourings, Victorian open fireplace (free coal), TV/DVD/video, bookcases; archway to dining/fitted kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, larder fridge) with dining table comfortably seating 6 and slate floor; hall (washing machine, tumble drier, freezer); downstairs shower-room (suite); back door to steps (narrow, handrail) to garden. Four bedrooms: on first floor, twin (pretty patchwork counterpanes) and large double; also bathroom (suite). On second floor (steep stairs, handrail), one single (lovely 180 degree sea views) and one large double bedroom, both with dormer windows.
