The place:
Helston: small old town, the Lizard’s biggest, with shops, indoor swimming pool, boating lake and popular Flambards 'theme park'. Loe Pool (beautiful lagoon, lovely walks), 1 mile. Gweek (seal sanctuary), 1½ miles. Porthleven (fishing village), Church Cove, Gunwalloe (sandy beach, pub) and the Helford River, about 4 miles; Praa Sands, 5. St Ives, 10.

The property:

… 3 miles west of Helston, deep in hedgerow lanes, a very private detached stone cottage with origins in the early 1800s, facing out over its large, pretty lawned garden. It is approached over about 100 yards of gravel track, so virtually no passing traffic. The nearest shop/pub/beach and Trevarno and Godolphin gardens (Nat.Trust), about 2 miles.

Inside is comfortable, light and stylish with good use of fabrics. From side garden, entrance to large sun porch with washing machine, tumble drier, games and toys, through to the kitchen (dishwasher, freezer, big range cooker) with beech worktops, butler sink and slate floor; dining room with table big enough for ten, and a little decorative fireplace; sunny south-facing living room (door lintel 5’9", beams 6’4") with views and door to garden. Stairs up to four bedrooms – two double (one with 5’ bed), both with pretty garden views, a linkable twin also with pretty garden views, and another twin (2’6" linkable beds); bathroom (suite with spa bath plus separate shower), and shower-room (suite). 2 TVs/2 DVDs. Cautionary Deposit £100. St Ives, 25 minute drive. A good relaxing place to return to after a day on the beach or exploring the area.
